Pineapple Rail Trail

A popular track with picturesque views

Length: 4.5km

Duration: 1.5hrs

Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail is a 4.5km, grade 2 hike located in Yeppoon, Livingstone Area.

The former railway line was constructed in 1909 and stretched 53km from Yeppoon to Rockhampton. The track’s main loading was pineapples, hence the name, however, it was closed down in 2006 when the loading of pineapples was moved to road transport. The first 4.5km of the trail were opened to a high standard as a walking trail in 2014.

The track has since become a recreational attraction popular among joggers, families and cyclists. The Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail takes visitors through picturesque bushland and urban landscape.
